I am not going to sugarcoat this topic, and the only reason I am raising it is because of the new book tour Jill Biden is embarking on today. I have seen two interviews so far this week.
The problem is that there is a brutal truth sitting at the center of the Joe Biden legacy debate, and no amount of memoir promotion, cable-news defensiveness, party spin, or carefully worded nostalgia can erase it. Joe Biden did not merely have a bad debate. He did not merely age on camera. He did not merely misread one campaign cycle. He and the Democratic Party made a catastrophic political decision, defended it far beyond the point of reason, and then acted shocked when the consequences arrived exactly as many voters feared they would.
That is the part that still feels impossible to process. That is why I point fingers at the Democratic Party for everything that has happened and, to this day, much of what is happening remains the Democrats’ fault. That includes Biden.
