Will the world become more polarized?

24:53

Some 70 million people around the world have been dragged into extreme poverty due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In Europe, the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict has caused an energy crisis and high inflation. And around the world, rising economic and geopolitical tensions continue to further destabilize and strain relations. Is de-globalization the new trend? How has the Ukraine crisis impacted global order? And is it still possible for China and the U.S. – the world’s two largest economies – to stop the decoupling and recommit to improving trade and other exchanges? Our guest in this episode is Nobel Laureate Michael Spence, Philip H. Knight, professor and dean emeritus at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
