MUSCAT – Bank Muscat has won the Leading Corporate for Investor Relations award from the Middle East Investor Relations Association (MEIRA) at an awards ceremony held in Riyadh recently. The Award was received on behalf of the bank by Nasser Al Balushi from the Riyadh branch at an event, which was attended by senior officials from a number of stock exchanges and listed companies from the region. MEIRA is an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the Investor Relations (IR) profession and international standards in corporate governance. The awards initiative is part of the integrated efforts made by MEIRA in partnership with regulators and stock exchanges in the region to promote disclosures and raise awareness about the need for transparency as well as the importance of disclosing interim and material information.

MEIRA aims to enhance the reputation, efficiency and attractiveness of capital markets in the Middle East region through dialogue among members and encouraging the Investor Relations community to implement global best practices within the field. The association works closely with stock exchanges, regulators and other market participants to support companies in their professional development and certification programmes. As a corporate member of MEIRA, Bank Muscat, which is recognised as the leading financial services provider in Oman, is committed to the implementation of best practices in its investor relations, greater transparency and improved market communications.

Bank Muscat in line with its vision ‘To serve you better, everyday’, has always committed to providing accurate and updated information to all its stakeholders in accordance to the relevant rules and regulations. The bank regularly issues financial results data as well as clarifications and disclosures on issues, which may affect its current and future operations. Furthermore, the bank engages with investors periodically as per the Investor Relations regulations and practices to provide updates and outlook on the bank’s performance.

The award from MEIRA adds to the substantial number of international and local awards and accolades received this year.
